Somos Productions LLC

Somos, or « we are » in Spanish, is a production company that gathers international talents to create content in Qatar ranging from documentaries, to corporate videos, advertisements, social media content, films and music.

Founded in Doha in June 2024 under the umbrella of Media City Qatar, Somos Productions, although still young, benefits from over 25 years of experience in music and cinema brought by each of its founders : the multi-award-winning Egyptian film director Hisham Abdel Khalek, whose work spans from Paris to New York; the renowned Egyptian-Chilean music composer Ahmad Magdy, with an international career extending from Latin America to the Middle East and the Gulf; the French producer Olivier Delesse, an alumnus of HEC Paris, who brings his business acumen to the team; and the young American director Sultan Shah.

After producing a documentary for Al Jazeera Documentary about the trailblazing Qatari singer Dana Al Meer who rose to international fame after performing at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and creating music for several advertisements in Qatar in 2024 through their respective companies So Freakantastik (France) and Tiah Music (Spain), they joined forces to establish Somos Productions LLC in Doha in June 2024.

Somos is currently producing a documentary film about the Al-Kuwari family in Qatar, highlighting their remarkable achievements and legacy in sports from rally racing to padel, tennis, and football. The company has several other documentary projects in development and is expanding its portfolio to include corporate videos and advertisements.
